The First Cutting Board I Made

About 20 years ago, I made the cutting board pictured below in my high school woodworking class. My mother has used this board as her “daily driver” ever since. She asked me to refinish the board for the first time this spring. Since the cutting board was in great structural shape, the refinishing process was simple and the board turned out as nice as it was when it was new. I flattened it back out and planed the knife marks out. Then the edges were rounded back over and the whole thing was sanded. Finally, the board was re oiled and returned for many more years of reliable use.
